Inter-Process Communication, IPC
processes分為兩種，一種是不會互相影響的independent process，另一種是可以互相影響的cooperating process。而實際上使用multiple process的時機大多是在處理事件或在背景做其他事。例如:在等使用者輸入時可繼續計算，或是在背景執行磁碟重組作業。而常見的Inter-Process Communication有shared memory跟message Passing這兩種。
cooperating process有資訊共享、加速運算和模組化這些好處。
