Apparently, it would be very difficult if we directly challenge the full scramble puzzle. Something like
is too scary for us now. Fortunately, from FAQ #15, the maintainer gives us a hint on how to learn to solve 4D puzzles. In Menu->Scramble
, there is more options other than the Full Scramble one. There are numbers representing the difficulty.
For example, let's first try the easist one. Press ctrl+1
, and it give us
Some observation first. The up and the down cell seems complete because both have identical eight stickers. This fact may indicate that we don't have to do any twists that affect them. Let's center the down (pick) cell, it becomes
We have a more clear view now. The six neighbor cells, up/down/left/right/front/back's "inner" halves are already done. All "outer" halves are also done with the invisible 8th cell. We should be able to tweak only the center cell and solve this situation.
Let's try to resume the red cell, which can be done with twist the center cell from its top (each of the four can do the trick):
Well, it becomes clear now. There is only one twist left:
Pressing another Ctrl+1
, here is one more example:
Level 1 puzzle does not seem terrifying any more. I think I will try one more practice mode, and then go straight to the full scramble one.
