Linux的核心通常都比較不挑硬體，所以有很開機就可以使用的Live cd，大部份無法開機的情形都是root或boot分區指定錯誤。
如果真的是核心太舊造成無法開機，就用比較新的Live CD開機時按e修改開機選單，將 "root=/dev/ram" 修改為 "root=硬碟root分區" 。開機進入系統後再升級核心即可。

As I know, RHEL 4.6 is not able to port into Intel Nehalem chipset/platform. Nehalem needs RHEL 4.7 above. Months ago, one SI tried to use new version of Acronis Echo server to clone from Dell 2950 and restore to Dell R710(Nehalem). After restored, the Kernel panic and keep rebooting itself. Checked with Redhat Global support, they only sent out the compapatible matrix to ask SI to follow it up. Meaning to say, please install RHEL 4.7 above ( 5.0,5.1,5.2,5.3 applicable ) to meet the requirement.
