Solaris X86 OS only in GRUB environment instead of "OK" prompt. "OK" prompt--(the exact name is Openboot) is only available in SPARC chipset ( UltraSPARC--from SUN or SPARC64--from Fujitsu ).

GRUB now is a default IPL ( initial program loading ) for both Linux distrubtion and Solaris x86 platform.

In fact, MAC OS also used Openboot before but now no more. Compared with Openboot and GRUB, majority of users find the usage of Openboot is more difficult than GRUB's.

Please refer to Solaris 10 System Admin I. There is one chapter just mentions the "Openboot--OK prompt", the other charpter tells end-user how to utilize "GRUB".
