Hardware Enablement Engineer is responsible for fixing and developing functions of hardware on Linux, in kernel and user space.
They should represent him- or herself actively within the Open Source community, share their knowledge, and further develop it via special interest groups, professional organizations, and specialized conferences

Key responsibilities:
--Designing and implementing new features of the corresponding Linux software stack for hardware enablement.
--Technical analysis of problem reports related to the software stack of hardware enablement both the kernel and user space programs.
--Backporting patches from vanilla kernel to kernels of SUSE/openSUSE products.
--Participation in the global Linux development communities, professional organizations, and community conferences.

Knowledge required:
For newly graduated candidates:
--Excellent knowledge of the C programming language
--More than 4 years Linux use and develop experience
--That will be good have Linux driver development or tracking experience:
*filesystem, storage
*networking
--That will be good have git or svn using experience.
--Good spoken and written knowledge of English

For experienced candidates:
--Excellent understanding at least one of the following components of the Linux kernel and user space:
*Storage (SATA, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand)
*Filesystem, Memory Management
*NIC
*Graphics (KMS, DRM, Mesa, X Window System and Wayland)
--Excellent knowledge of the C programming language
--Excellent knowledge of Linux Kernel architecture and principles
--Good knowledge of open-source community principles, with main focus on Linux Kernel development model and practices
--Good knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
--Good knowledge of Linux debugging tools
--Good spoken and written knowledge of English
--That will be good have Linux kernel contribution
