鵝有個user很精實,想拿29320LPE接7T的storage,他說在SCSI BIOS中的確只看到一個7T的LUN,但是OS開起來後kernel看到的卻是4個1.7T的LUN,鵝找了一下Adaptec最後一版的FW也到2009年為止(i.e.很有可能不支援>2T的LUN
),請問一下有邦友這麼用過嗎

由於 BIOS 內看到 7TB, 而 OS 看不到, 所以要查您的 OS 是否用 UEFI 安裝的?
沒用 UEFI mode 的話, OS 開機碟無法超過 2TB, 即使 LUN 可以看到 7TB 也沒用.
這個7T的LUN只是要當storage用而已,OS是裝在其它MBR格式的HD上,不過有網友說CentOS5.5的kernel並不支援GPT,看樣子得幫user加工了....

The total size of an array or single disk cannot exceed 2TB (two terrabytes) for the SCSI HostRAID controllers (i.e. 29320A-R, 39320-R, etc.).

Linux 2.6 kernels support arrays larger than 2TB in capacity.
With the remaining capacity of the array (>2TB), you must use the ‘parted’ command as the disk-partitioning tool, not ‘fdisk’. Once you have used the ‘parted’ command, you will be able to access it as one whole volume.

鵝有前同事說他在別的site有遇過29320LPE配>2T storage沒問題的,怕是user的SCSI BIOS太舊或是在SCSI BIOS中設了將>2T的storage切成multi LUN了,不過這部份遠端看不到,所以只好找時間跑一趟了....
BIOS Multiple LUN Support—(Default: No) Leave this setting at No if the device does not have multiple LUNs. When set to Yes, the SCSI card BIOS provides boot support for a SCSI device with multiple LUNs .
