這篇文章來跟大家分享一個PM課程的消息, 就是Google在2020年7月重磅公布了他們要在Grow with Google要來開設所謂"Google Career Certificates"的職業認證課程, 雖然在寫這篇文章的時候, 此課程還沒有正式上線, 無法得知其真正教學的內容為何? 但我想至少證明了一點, 就是目前PM的職業技能真的很夯, 而且長期而言, PM仍是供不應求, 也是未來數位技能的基礎職能, 所以Google也大張旗鼓地宣稱通過此認證課程的人, 等同於大學畢業的文憑可以到Google公司工作, 消息來源 1 , 2

此外, 也很高興此職業認證系列公布的三個職業類型: 數據分析師（Data Analyst）、專案經理（Project Manager）以及 使用者經驗設計師（User eXperience Designer), 除了PM本來就是在捧的飯碗之外, DA和UX也都是我很有興趣補強的技能主題, 雖然工作中其實多少都已經有實際接觸也用上部分技能, 但自我提升的優先順序應該還是會以DA優先於UX來學習, 下面節錄Grow with Google (US)網站上的說明文字, 確認職能目標的認知清楚無誤:

1. Data Analyst(數據分析師)
   Data analysts make use of data to help inform important business decisions. They prepare, process, and analyze data for key insights, share their findings with stakeholders, and provide data-driven recommendations for effective action.

• This certificate helps learners develop confidence navigating the data lifecycle using tools and platforms to process, analyze, visualize and gain insights from data.

2. Project Manager(專案經理)
   Project managers are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed efficiently with maximum quality and value added to the business.

• This certificate focuses on the foundations of traditional project management, while also offering insight into agile project management.

3. UX Designer(使用者經驗設計師)
   User experience (UX) designers make technology easier and more enjoyable to use. They create or refine products and interfaces to make them useful, usable, and accessible to users.

• This certificate teaches learners the foundations of UX design and research, building low-fidelity designs and wireframes, creating high-fidelity prototypes, and testing.

整體而言, 我最好奇的是想看看Google安排的PM職業實務認證課程與現存的PMP或ACP相關課程上有無差異, 畢竟Google應該會安排工作上最需要用到的知識與技能, 甚至有可能轉化過成實務上的工作技巧, 而非一般性或普遍性的PM入門或概念課程, 看看別人, 想想自己, 補強任何可能遺漏或疏忽的面向!

最後我還是很開心在多年前投入了PM職涯的選擇, 開啟了一條寬廣的發展道路, 雖然說是到近幾年的工作才真正算是做專職的PM, 以現在的說法, 畢業後的八年多都是在做某領域的Domain Know How的技術發展, 但這也是奠定目前能投入智慧製造的基礎, 到鐵人賽系列文章的尾聲時會再聊一下這樣的發展契機與展望!
