第一次看此系列文的朋友,請先移步到 Day 1 – 如何開始?進行方式、自我介紹實戰 哦!
每天早上的 stand-up meeting,你要用英文簡單報告昨天做了什麼、今天要做什麼、以及有沒有遇到阻礙。常常會卡在「該怎麼簡短又清楚表達?」導致講太久或語塞。
今日目標:用 3 句話 清楚完成 Daily Stand-up 報告。
[Config]
- Day: Day10 – Stand-up Meeting
- Scenario: Daily stand-up report for a backend engineer.
- The report should follow the structure: Yesterday / Today / Blocker.
- Keep answers short and clear (1–2 sentences per part).
想一下:
並且把關鍵字寫下來。
我的關鍵字:
記得把對話錄下來,自己聽一次,想想有哪裡不自然、哪裡需要調整。
今天我在 GPT APP 的語音遇到一些問題,換成網頁之後就正常了。
如果有問題也可以試試看使用網頁版本。
救命句:
I fixed a bug yesterday.
爭取思考時間:
Let me think for a second...
昨天完成的事
今天要做的事
遇到的問題 / 阻礙
1) Per-turn Corrections
Turn 2: You said, "I just fixed the trading algorithm bug yesterday."
Rewrite: "I fixed the trading algorithm bug yesterday."
Alternative: "Yesterday, I fixed a bug in the trading algorithm."
Turn 4: You said, "Today I will focus on writing some integration tests."
Rewrite: "Today I will focus on writing some integration tests." (No changes; you repeated it perfectly!)
Alternative: "I’ll spend today working on integration tests."
Turn 6: You said, "I'm blocked by the business logic and I'll ask the project manager for help after stand-up."
Rewrite: "I'm blocked by some business logic and I'll ask the project manager for help after the stand-up."
Alternative: "There's some business logic blocking me, so I’ll check with the PM after this."
2) Top 3 Patterns
Articles: Sometimes missing "a" or "some" before nouns.
Tip: Just add a/an or some when you mention something general.
Prepositions: Small slips like "by the business logic" instead of "by some business logic."
Tip: Use a little word like "some" to smooth it out.
Tense Consistency: You did well, but remember to keep past actions in simple past form.
3) Phrase Pack
"Yesterday, I worked on..."
"Today I’m focusing on..."
"I’m currently blocked by..."
"I’ll ask [someone] for help after this."
"I need to finish some tests today."
"No blockers for now."
4) Intonation Tip
Try putting a slight stress on the main action word. For example: "I fixed the bug yesterday." It helps highlight what you did.
5) Fluency & Pronunciation Notes
Overall clear and steady.
Keep sentences short and you’ll stay on track.
Good job repeating corrections right away.
Remember to add small words like "some" for smoother flow.
6) Key Focus for Next Time
Goals: Practice adding articles, keep tenses consistent, and stress the key action word in a sentence.
Quick Drills (under 3 minutes): Shadow a few example sentences, do a substitution drill with "some" and "a/an," and summarize your daily tasks out loud.
