DAY 17
0

第一次看此系列文的朋友,請先移步到 Day 1 – 如何開始?進行方式、自我介紹實戰 哦!

🎬 情境故事

今天你和 DevOps 工程師討論新功能的部署流程。你想確認 staging 測試、production 發布的時間與 rollback 機制,但英文中總覺得 technical term 和禮貌語氣難拿捏。

今日目標: 清楚說明部署需求、確認時程與風險處理。

🤖 Config Prompt

[Config]
- Day: Day23 – DevOps Deployment Discussion
- Scenario: You are a software engineer discussing deployment with a DevOps engineer. Your goal is to clarify the release schedule, confirm rollback procedures, and ensure smooth collaboration. Focus on polite, clear communication using simple technical English.

🎯 開始進行練習

記得把對話錄下來,自己聽一次,想想有哪裡不自然、哪裡需要調整。

🆘 今日救命句

  • 救命句:
Can we double-check the deployment steps?
  • 爭取思考時間:
Let me think about the environment setup first...

🔑 核心句型

  1. 確認部署內容

    • The new feature adds API logging for debugging.
    • This release mainly focuses on improving performance.
  2. 確認時程與環境

    • We plan to deploy to staging this Friday.
    • When will it be pushed to production?
  3. 談風險與回滾機制

    • In case something goes wrong, can we roll back easily?
    • What’s the backup plan if the deployment fails?
  4. 禮貌地請求協助

    • Could you please trigger the pipeline when it’s ready?
    • I’d appreciate it if you could monitor the logs after release.

📝 Final Report

1) Per-turn Corrections

Turn 2: You said, "This service have to release on next Monday, so I'll deploy its to staging environment tomorrow."
Rewrite: "This service has to be released next Monday, so I'll deploy it to the staging environment tomorrow."
Alternative phrasing: "We need to release this service next Monday, so I'll push it to staging tomorrow."

Turn 4: You said, "I'll give you the the Kubernetes YAML configuration tomorrow."
Rewrite: "I'll give you the Kubernetes YAML configuration tomorrow."
Alternative phrasing: "I’ll hand over the Kubernetes YAML file tomorrow."

Turn 6: You said, "If we need rollback, just deploy the previous image tag version."
Rewrite: "If we need to roll back, just deploy the previous image tag version."
Alternative phrasing: "To roll back, we can simply use the last image tag."

Turn 8: You said, "Can we move the deploy to next Tuesday? Does that work for you?"
Rewrite: Exactly correct as is!
Alternative phrasing: "Is it okay if we shift the deployment to Tuesday?"

2) Top 3 Patterns

Verb Agreement: Remember to match the subject with the verb. For example, "It has to" instead of "It have to." A simple rule: if it’s a single thing (it), use "has," not "have."

Articles ("a"/"the"): Use "the" when talking about something specific, like "the YAML configuration."

Politeness in Rescheduling: It's great to ask "Does that work for you?" when suggesting changes. Just keep that habit up!

3) Phrase Pack

"I’ll deploy it to the staging environment."

"Does that work for you?"

"We can roll back by deploying the previous version."

"Can we reschedule the deployment?"

"I'll provide the configuration file tomorrow."

"Let’s confirm the release schedule."

4) Intonation Tip

When asking a polite question like "Does that work for you?" try to let your voice rise a bit at the end. It makes you sound more friendly and open.

5) Fluency & Pronunciation Notes

Your sentences were nice and clear overall.

Just slow down a tiny bit on longer phrases.

Keep an eye on those small connecting words (like "the") for smoother flow.

Your intonation is already quite polite—just a bit more rising intonation on questions.

6) Key Focus for Next Time

Improvement Goals: Focus on verb agreement, article use, and maintaining polite phrasing.

3-Minute Drills: Do a quick shadowing exercise with a couple of polite questions and rescheduling phrases. Try substituting different days or times to practice flexibility.
