「解救英文苦難的IT人」系列文 Day 11

• 在用生命在賺取收入而錢卻越來越難賺的時代，能不花錢學到某個專業人士在某個領域的多年經驗、知識、技巧、訣竅，是很好的事情。
• 第一次接觸本系列的朋友，麻煩從第一篇開始看，因為有連貫性（後文內容常架構在前文之上，少了前文當基礎，可能無法理解）。

不少片語動詞適用於informal場合，生活情境便是如此

• 我通常建議在談論抽象議題以前，能夠開口描述本身生活各主題與細節，學習應該循序漸進。
• 片語動詞被廣泛運用在生活情境之中，參考精緻演說。

片語動詞有兩個單字組成和三個單字結合而成，不論如何，都可區分為及物和不及物，其中及物片語動詞又有兩類，可分拆和不可拆（不及物一定都不可拆）。舉例比較容易看懂：

• I work out in the park every day after work.不及物work out
• I have to work out the research proposal by next Monday.及物work out可拆＝... work the research proposal out ...
• More and more people are willing to spend more time working on their fitness.及物work on不可拆
• My way to work off anxiety is to sleep.及物work off可拆＝... work anxiety off ...
• I don't think that anyone would put up with drunk driving.及物put up with不可拆
• Many times I forget to put my glasses on when reading newspapers.及物put on可拆＝... put on my glasses ...
• From that moment on, I looked up to our team leader for her patience and thoughtfulness.及物look up to不可拆
• I was asked to work overtime because the project fell behind schedule.及物fall behind不可拆
• I don't have a natural talent for drawing sketches, and I don't believe I can make up for it with hard work. The reason is simple. I am not artistic.及物make up for不可拆
• If I fall behind, please stop running and wait for me.不及物fall behind
• I guess he will take up your invitation.及物take up可拆＝take your invitation up
• I am considering whether to take up the new position as a marketing manager.及物take up可拆但是受詞過長不宜放在take和up之間
• A: They offered me a new position. B: Will you take it up?由於受詞是代名詞，一定要放在take和up之間，亦即take up it是錯誤的

片語動詞數量多到可以出一本厚重的書了。拋磚引玉介紹幾個我覺得還不錯的片語動詞給大家。
